26/02/2004 The writer Paulo Coelho will give a talk next Monday,
1st March, in Vitoria on the Pilgrim´s Road to Santiago, as part of
the "Encounters with the Cathedral" series, organized by the Santa
María Cathedral Foundation. The talk will be held at the Teatro Principal
at 8.00 pm.
For those interested in attending the talk, invitations will be available
as from this Saturday, 28th February, at the Visitor´s Reception
Centre (plaza de las Brullerías, s/n). The Centre is open to the
public from 10.30 am to 2.00 pm and 4.30 pm to 8.00 pm. Given the expectation
caused by the presence of the Brazilian writer, only one invitation will
be given per person.
Coelho´s participation in "Encounters with the Cathedral"
is justified by his broad knowledge about the Pilgrim´s Road to
Santiago, which is reflected in his work The Diary of a Magus: The Road
to Santiago, and this will be the theme of his talk.
Coelho, considered by some as an alchemist of words and by others as
a mass phenomenon, is one of the most influential authors of this century.
In his latest novel, Eleven Minutes, he tells a story of love and sex,
as a reflection on the body and soul and how to reach a perfect union
between the two. His participation in "Encounters with the Cathedral"
is a real privilege for Vitoria, as it will be the first presentation
of Eleven Minutes in a Spanish city.
