Vitoria-Gasteiz, 16th
July 2009. Yesterday, the Town Councillor for Education of
Vitoria-Gasteiz City Council, Isabel Martínez, defined the joint
initiative between Vitoria-Gasteiz City Council and the Santa María
Cathedral Foundation as very positive.
The initiative, started over seven years
ago, was complemented two years ago with additional workshops to the
tour, meaning that the number of visits rose from 2.800 to 5.300
children. The Chairman of the Santa María Cathedral Foundation, Juan
Ignacio Lasagabaster, underlined the importance of these activities
that enable young people to have a closer experience of disciplines
such as archaeology or architecture. It is about turning the Gothic
temple into a space for learning.
