2010/08/31 The contemporary section of the Santa Maria Music Chapel ( On Saturday 4th) and Ensemble 415 ( on Thursday 9th) are organised by the Bernaola Bero festival
Vitoria- Gasteiz, 31st August 2010.- Santa Maria Cathedral begins in September again the ´Open for Concert´program after all the activities organides during August for celebrating the Jacobean Holy Year. The first two concerts are pat of the Bernaola Bero Festival. On September 4th the Music Chapel of Santa Maria Cathedral will offer it´s contemporary section directed by Maite Aurrekoetxea. The concert will be in the central nave and they will present plays of the three most important composers of the XXth century: Claude Debussy, Pierre Boulez and Brian Ferneyhough. The english choreographer Michelle Man will also present her performance with the two new creations of Ignacio Monterrubio and Alfonso García de la Torre, they propose a mixture between dance and electroacustic music. The concert will finish with a play of the mexican composer Arístides Llaneza and with the absolute premiere of the composer Zuriñe Gerenabarrena. This new play will be added to the Musical Archive of the Cathedral.The next concert will be on Thursday 9th, and Ensemble 415, the group formed in Geneva in 1981, will offer a concert . Leaded by the swiss violinist Chiara Banchini and the soprano Monica Piccinini, they will perform plays of Boccherini.
The pianist Judith Jauregui, will play on Saturday 18th. Born in San Sebastian and formed in in Salamanca and Munich, she will perform Impromptus of Chopin ( 1810-1849), a variation of Mompou of Chopin ( 1893-1987) and II Fantasiestücke Op. 12 of Schumenn ( 1810-1856)
All the concert begin at 8.00 pm in the central nave and the tickets are available in the Cathedral´s Store ( Las Escuelas St., 11) for 1€ for the members of the Founders Circle of Santa Maria Cathedral, and 3€ for the rest.
Coque Malla
This actor and singer from Madrid will offer on September 11th an acustic concert in the portico of his last album titled ´La hora de los gigantes´. He will sing his new songs and also the ones from his period in the group The Ronaldos. The price of the tickets is 2€ for the members of the Founders Circle and 5€ for the rest. The tickets will be available only the week of the concert.
