The Santa María Cathedral Foundation is currently taking part in various specific research and innovation projects, amongst which we would like to highlight:
+ The implementation of an application of the analysis of structures based on the theory of evolutionary limit states in the Church of San José of Viejo San Juan, in Puerto Rico
+ The development of the computer programme ”Sandstone Heritage Documentation Software” in the documentation of the restoration of the Pórtico de la Gloria (Portico of Glory) of Santiago de Compostela
+ Participation in the NANO-CATHEDRAL project together with the Cathedrals of Cologne, Vienna, Ghent and Pisa (as well as the Opera House building in Oslo). This project, financed by the European Union through its Horizon 2020 programme, develops new nano-materials, technologies and procedures for the conservation of deteriorated stones in monumental buildings, cathedrals and contemporary architecture of great value.
