Thanks to its guided visit programme, Santa María Cathedral is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Vitoria and the Basque Country. The quality of this programme was recognised by the Basque Government with the Tourism Award (2000). It also participates in and is certified by SICTED, the project to improve the quality of tourist destinations promulgated by the Secretariat of State for Tourism and it adheres to the commitment to the Euskadi Tourism Code of Ethics.
