Cornices above the ambulatory chapels (2016-2017)

To provide the buttresses of the ambulatory parapet with an architectural and constructive finish, as well as to protect this same passage and the stained glass windows that provide light to the interior chapels, a projecting cornice has been built, formed by three stonework flat vaulted overhangs, on the minimum screed of the flying buttresses necessary to free and completely close the vaults of the chapels.

This vaulted cornice forms a contorted edge, with three cavities corresponding to each of the chapels, on which the cover of the chevet rests, whose geometry is defined by that of the cornice.
